I was so pleased to hear that 'Soft Shallows' sold yesterday thanks to Gallerina.
Even though galleries are currently closed please do still contact them via telephone or email to enquire about a piece you are interested in. Most galleries are still working hard behind closed doors to help with any enquiries or sales.
This painting was painted last summer when I was dreaming of being beside the sea. We had had our holiday to Cornwall in June cancelled due to the restrictions & I was consoling myself by reading the wonderful book The Salt Path by Raynor Winn in the studio between painting.
It is one of three paintings that came from that time which will always remind me of The Salt Path and dreaming of Cornwall.
Thanks to Tate St Ives I also found out that today March 5th is St Piran's Day! St Piran is the patron saint of Cornwall and Tin miners & is celebrated in Cornwall every year across Cornish communities, sadly not this year though.
So Happy St Prian's Day or Gool Peran Lowen in Cornish.
